Penny At The Tree

On one of my many visits to Padley Gorge I met Penny the black dog. We met at this fascinating crossing point on the stone pathway that criss-crosses the ancient woodland. The cobbled path leads uphill on the west side of Burbage Brook which runs along the bottom of the gorge.

Padley Gorge is always a magical place for me. My imagination is stirred by the twisted shapes of the ancient trees coupled with the stones left lying around by industrialisation of the past.
