"A shaft of early evening sunlight illuminates the Cathedral before the storm covers Lincoln."
Capturing this image took a good few hours. Despite the inclement weather of rain with the odd showing of sun, Lincoln was bustling. Locals went about their business and even a few tourists had braved the cold and wandered into town.
What made the capture especially tricky was the succession of deliveries, buses, taxi's and builders vans. The Magna Carta was having some work done outside which involved lots of cones and men standing looking at things. The lady who owned the shop to the right (out of shoot) was making deliveries all afternoon with her car parked right in the middle of the square, which made the bus drivers mad as this is also their turning spot!
Getting a good viewpoint also took some time. A gaggle of dancers from a local troupe had gathered just at the point I was going to stand to have their photo taken for the local newspaper.
In between distractions, and over about a four hour period I gathered all the images that I needed to make the scene above. I hope that you enjoy it.
