The National Director Of The Year Awards 2019 is the highlight of the Institute of Directors’ event calendar. I can share with you some of the highlights as official event photographer for the evening.
This year the venue for the awards was the Brewery in London. The Brewery provides a unique location in the heart of the City. A stylish blend of historic and modern gave the perfect backdrop to this prestigious event.
The Brewery itself was decked out with the sponsor graphics to make the whole venue feel extra special.
The outside area and lobby were all carefully decorated. Guests were led to the Porter Tun event room. This very large space was beautifully set out with great attention to detail.
Maybe in years past the event photographer was the only one who really captured the sting memories of the day. With mobiles at the ready every aspect is recorded by someone! My job as event photographer is to get great images of everything, and add a touch of creativity too!
Event Photographer Double Act
As with previous events my beautiful wife was my assistant and worked the areas downstairs when I was up (and vice versa).
Two photographers also means that some ‘Behind The Scenes’ images can be captured!
When Karen was not taking photos she was uploading images into the LIVE gallery for guests to download and share. Find out more about the event photography services we offer.
Going That Extra Mile
If you have met me you will know that I like to go that extra step to get the most creative image. Seeing a large puddle as we were waiting for guests to arrive, I decided to be creative.
In my mind I could grab a shot of one of the Jaguar cars and make it look as if it was standing on top of water. My efforts did not quite work as the puddle was below a rise in the cobble stones. Still, “A” for effort!
