Landscape photographers UK.
Wherever I travel across the UK I take my camera. There is always an opportunity to capture the British way of life and record forever the scene that is before me.
I capture memories with my camera. My landscape photographs are how I remembered the places that I have visited. They conjure up for me the feeling that I had at the time. They bring back the emotion that I felt, the sounds and smells. In short, they help me to relive my visit.
This photograph was captured in Birstall, Leicestershire. It depicts a slower way of life on the water.
The modern Grand Union links cities such as Birmingham, Leicester, Oxford and London. the lock at Birstall on a sunny day transports you back to a time when people enjoyed a slower pace of life. The subtle chug of the riverboats lul you into believing in a rather romantic view of life in the 19th century when these boats would have been used in earnest.
In reality, the canal system of England was a busy waterway was more often a hard life for those struggling to make a living carrying coal and other goods across the country.
In this particular photograph, I love the little dog that seems to be piloting the canal boat and the swan that is leading the way. It took me some time (and a good deal of patience) to wait for a boat to come along and complete the scene. Then I had just a few moments to capture the photograph.
All of my landscape photographs are available to purchase as fine art prints and framed fine art prints. You can find more information about prints and frames you can purchase by visiting my Landscape Print Information page.
