You want your school photographs to be excellent. School Photographers have a tough time. In a bid to minimise disruption to lessons (understandably) schools allot the shortest possible amount of time they can. This means the photographer has just a few moments with each child. He doesn’t have time to check that Daniel’s face is clean after lunch, or that Rebekah’s tie is straight (and regulation length!). He can’t help the fact that Noah’s class have come straight from a games lesson, so Noah’s face is red as a tomato and his hair is stuck to his head with sweat!
Then there’s the fact that most children have been back at school for weeks by the time school photos are taken. That means their uniform has had plenty of visits with the washing machine by the time that photograph is taken, and it’s no longer quite as pristine as it was that first week in September (although to be fair, it probably fits them better).
Despite all of that, school photos are not cheap, but most parents buy them anyway because they are one of those sentimental moments from our childhood. I know my mum still has full sets of our school photos, all neatly arranged chronologically in albums, and is now building albums with her grandchildren’s pictures in (only after a year sitting proudly on her sideboard of course).
So, why not have school photos you can be delighted with, for a similar cost to the ones taken in school? Peter will come to your home with everything he needs to get a really special school photo, at a time to suit you; and while you have him there, why not get a picture of Charlie in his scouts uniform, or Amy in her rowing kit?
And remember, this is your school photo, so you don’t have to have the standard pose - you can choose to have one with a bit more personality too!
Of course this is the ideal solution if you are looking for photos to keep and share with relatives who have their photos taken at school.
This family wanted their school photos retaken. They had lots of fun, and got some great pictures to treasure…
Before - his own style
After - Mum had a comb!
…plus a couple for Grandmama

During your portrait session, you will be taken through every step to capture each of you at your best. I help you relax in front of the camera, and will capture the real beauty within each of you. You can relax knowing that the children are safe in their own space. They can come and go as needed and have easy access to their own toys, snacks, games and clothes.
A few days after your session I return to your home with your portrait prints. The best portraits from your photoshoot will have been prepared - all fully edited, finished, printed and matted. There will be no ‘hard sell’ involved whatsoever. You just choose which photos that you love and want to keep in your beautifully crafted folio box.
"From my initial contact through to enjoying my final products my portrait experience felt personal to me. Being in my own home my session was relaxed, friendly and professional. Every step of the way was made clear by Peter who was on hand to support me. Peter brought my portraits ready to keep there and then!"
